Who this is
The Art Practice Wheel is a self-assessment tool developed by Dr Gaëlle Vallée-Tourangeau as part of her artistic practice. It is hosted at practicewheel.gaelle-artstudio.com.
What data is collected
Email address. Collected when you register. Used to identify your account, prevent duplicate registrations, and allow you to retrieve your results over time.
First name (optional). If provided, used only to address you personally in any communications.
Context information (optional). At registration you may choose to share how you heard about The Art Practice Wheel, how long you have been engaged in a creative practice, and whether you are currently enrolled in a formal art or creative programme. This information is used only for research purposes, to understand how the tool is being used across different communities of practice.
Assessment responses. Your answers to all 18 questions, stored individually alongside the six dimension scores (0–18 each), so you can see both your overall profile and how each question contributed to it.
Session date. The date of each completed diagnostic, stored alongside your scores so you can monitor how your profile changes over time.
Account ID. A randomly generated code assigned to your account. Your scores are stored against this ID rather than your email address, so your identity and your results are kept separate.
How your data is used
To provide the tool. Your email identifies your account. Your scores generate your profile and, over time, your progress history.
To improve this tool. Anonymous aggregate data — scores and session dates with no email attached — may be used to develop and improve The Art Practice Wheel and related products.
Legal basis for processing
Your data is processed on the basis of your consent, given when you enter your email and proceed. You may withdraw consent and request deletion of your data at any time.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, your email, name, and all associated records will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your data: request a copy of everything held about you
- Erasure: request that your account and all associated data be deleted
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
- Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
To exercise any of these rights, email info@gaelle-artstudio.com with your account ID and the action you are requesting. You will receive a response within 30 days.
Data security
Your data is stored on password-protected servers. Email addresses are stored separately from assessment scores. Access to the database is restricted to the data controller.
Cookies and tracking
This tool does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. No session data is stored in your browser.
Captcha. The registration form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam prevention service. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser information to verify that you are a human user. No data collected by Turnstile is shared with or stored by The Art Practice Wheel. Cloudflare's privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Changes to this policy
If material changes are made to how your data is used, this page will be updated with a new date. If you have an active account, you will be notified by email.
